5 : complications

This time, I am going to write about complications of allergic diseases.

First, I will explain about allergic diseases simply. It is said that allergic diseases are well known for accompanying these complications such as bronchial asthma and sinusitis and so on. Especially, there is a very high chance of accompany complications of allergic diseases of respiratory system so it is advocated the view of “one airway one disease”. It is said that curing for asthma and sinusitis at the same time is so effective.

Main complications of these are nasal polyp and sinusitis, asthma, bronchitis, eczema, and hypertrophy of tonsil and infectious diseases of ear and the like. These may cause allergic asthma and tachycardia, loss of consciousness, decrease of blood pressure, a feeling of listlessness and shock right now if these were serious illness. Children’s allergic rhinitis are accompanies bronchial asthmas with probability of about 30%, and atopic dermatitis probability of about 20%, and vice versa, the probability of that allergic rhinitis accompany bronchial asthmas are about 70~80%, and it’s very high probability as expected.

For example, allergic rhinitis (pollen allergies) may complicate allergic asthmas and it makes it easy to catch cold. Because, noses connect with tracheas. Noses works to clean air as a filter when breathe in, and send moist air to tracheas as a humidifier. But if my nose is stuffed up by an allergic rhinitis, I can’t breath but mouth breathing. In mouth breathing, it has been arranged that I breathe in dirty and cold and dry air directly, so it complicates bronchial asthma and the like, as well as it makes have a weak chest. So it’s important that cure to be able to breathe nasal respiration from childhood.

About food allergies and hypersensitivity to drug and the like may accompanies nettle rash all over, having difficulty in breathing and disturbance of consciousness, and the worst, these may bring to death.

Next, I am going to explain about “allergy march”. Do you know it? It is said that emerging allergic diseases are the lowering of the age in recent years, then, allergy march is a burdensome phenomenon that various allergic diseases go in different time one after the other as if allergies are marching in brief. For example, a child develops an asthma in babyhood stage and be cured, but in early childhood and be cured, and develops a pollen allergy insecurity. Generally, “allergy march” is developed who has atopic background and be sensitized while whose mother is pregnant so it handed down. After one’s birth, not one but various allergic diseases come out by touching each antigen. For example, atopic dermatitis, asthmas, dyspepsia, allergic coryza, pollen allergies and so on, and in due course, these switch atopic disease adult type. It is thought that the cause of changing allergies is by shift the environment for one's age. But all of who has atopic background are not necessarily came out allergy march. And part of the patients may be cured as a child.
